All American Coin found a 1901 Morgan dollar PCGS graded au 50 graded, double die reverse, for a local collector. How rare is this silver dollar? Nobody knows for sure. But what we do know is that the collector has been looking for this coin for his collection for over ten years. He was thrilled when we found it for him. Why was he so thrilled ? One reason, it was the last coin to complete his collection. Another reason is that in the next higher grade this coin can sell for over ten thousand dollars while this one was well under two thousand dollars.

The finest 1901 Morgan dollar known grades just MS-62 + and has an estimated worth of $75,000. In all grades it is estimated that only one thousand of these survive in all grades. That makes it one of the rarest of all Morgan dollars. What’s super cool about this coin? It is a naked eye double die, meaning you don’t need a magnifying glass or a loop to see the doubling on the eagles tail . Also it is on a big popularly collected coin the Morgan dollar which has no other better double dies . Also the coin is featured in the Redbook with its own picture.
